How can we visualize something almost invisible to the human eye? In this case, air quality: the theme of design studio Lab AIR. As part of their visual identity, we designed cards that both contain and represent air. Laser-cut holes literally hold it while forming a cloudy sky. In a world where air is omnipresent yet invisible, Lab AIR invites us to pause and perceive it. Their projects transform air quality into something tangible, encouraging awareness and conversation. Lab AIR highlights the urgent issue of pollution, offering a creative way to visualize what is normally hidden. By making air visible, Lab AIR encourages dialogue, awareness, and collective action. Sustainability is embedded in both concept and material: soy-based Riso inks, energy-efficient printing, and CO₂-neutral, water-conserving Gmund Colors Matt paper ensure the project minimizes environmental impact while communicating its message. This work transforms an abstract environmental crisis into a personal encounter, showing that design can make the invisible tangible, poetic, and urgent. Lab AIR invites us to look at the sky differently—and to start a conversation about the air we share.
