V Music Magazine is a bi-monthly music publication created through the collaboration of students and faculty from the Hong Kong Design Institute, with renowned local DJ Dr. Wong Chi-Chung serving as an advisor. Distributed for free at the campus, vinyl shops, and live houses, each issue features a unique packaging design theme aimed at promoting local music and popular culture. The question "Why must a magazine be a book?" reflects the fragmented way people now consume information online. The bold "Vol. 1 Launch Issue" is packaged in a sealed transparent bag containing 12 sheets of paper, with 9 of them featuring illustrations that can be combined to create a large artwork. "Vol. 2" pays homage to the American alternative rock magazine Ray Gun, inspired by interviews with artists such as Yau Yat-San and Wing Shya.
